Join us for a late spring run in the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Enjoy the Perkins and Riding Hill Trails (Bills Bad Ass loop) ...when the weather is good! You will climb up and loop around several picturesque ponds and experience the amazing Oak Hill and Plateau Trails.
Why do we call this Candy Mountain?
1) Bad Ass Candy
2) Vertical Climbs
This event goes to support our free races in the running series.
Everett Road Covered Bride Parking Lot
The race begins and ends near the Everett Covered Bridge in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The runners run up a steep incline up the Oak Hill Trail about 1/2 mile to the Furnace Run Connector, which is before the Environmental Educational Center. DO NOT GO TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER! You will turn left and immediately turn right on Oak Hill Road for about 1/2 mile. At the Oak Hill Trailhead Parking area turn right and continue into the parking area. At the back of the lot you will see the bathroom. Turn left to the Plateau Trail. You will run this trail counterclockwise (right turn) to Sylvan Pond and continue to Meadow Edge Pond. When you reach Meadow Edge Pond you continue on the Plateau Trail down to the Valley Picnic Area where there will be an unmanned water drop. Leaving the Valley Picnic Area, runners will turn around and continue up the Plateau Trail back to the Oak Hill Parking area and run back to the Covered Bridge the way you came. Once returning to the Covered Bridge runners will run one loop on the challenging Perkins and Riding Run Trail (BBA 50K course) and cross back over the Covered Bridge to finish.
This is the only BBA50K Inc. race that has a sign up fee. The cost of the race offsets other free events hosted by this organization that raise funds for the local communities in need.
A fully stocked aid station and a second water station will be present. Bring a water bottle. First rate volunteers will support our runners.
DO NOT PARK AT THE COVERED BRIDGE. Coordinates listed below.
