The Canal Corridor 100 Mile Endurance Run will be held on October 11-12, 2025. Runners will run through the exceptionally beautiful Towpath Trail in Northeast Ohio.
The race is FAST, FLAT, AND SCENIC - suitable for anyone looking to complete their first 100 miler or a seasoned veteran who is going after their 100 mile PR.
The 8th Annual Canal Corridor 100 Mile Endurance Run, will be run on the Towpath Trail, starting and finishing in Akron at Missing Falls Brewery, running south from Akron ten miles then north to the Flats in Cleveland, then back to Akron. The final course will depend on permitting of all the jurisdictions that we hope to run through.
And we're again a Western States Endurance Run qualifier for 2025!

Run between the great cities of NE Ohio along the beautiful Towpath during the full fall folliage season. It is great time of year to run a long event, an awesome place to run your first 100, or set a personal PR.
The course is roughly 70% crushed limestone and 30% asphalt
The Ohio & Erie Canalway
A National Heritage Area … and a National Treasure
The Ohio & Erie Canalway is a National Heritage Area — designated by Congress in 1996 — to help preserve and celebrate the rails, trails, landscapes, towns and sites that grew up along the first 110 miles of the canal that helped Ohio and our nation grow.
Annually, more than 2.5 million Americans find their way to the iconic 81+ mile Towpath Trail running through the heart of the Canalway. The historic Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and the nationally designated America’s Byway offer alternate Canalway travel options through the National Heritage Area. Whether birding, hiking, bicycling or traveling by horseback, trail, rail or Byway — the cultural, historic, recreational and natural resources of the Ohio & Erie Canalway add quite a bit to the quality of life in the counties of Cuyahoga, Summit, Stark and Tuscarawas in Northeastern Ohio.
Within our borders — stretching 110 miles from Cleveland to New Philadelphia — you’ll find the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, the County Park Districts of Cuyahoga, Summit, Stark and Tuscarawas Counties all working together with communities and organizations to restore, build and replenish the cultural, historical, natural and recreational resources of the region that collectively tell our story.
It’s been a source of economic strength for Ohio as well. Since receiving its National Heritage Area designation in 1996, the Ohio & Erie Canalway has leveraged upwards of $350 million in federal, state, local and private investments throughout the region. Of that total, $85 million in leveraged investments have taken place along the Towpath Trail itself. In many respects, it’s an historic return on the $12 million in National Park Service funding that the Ohio & Erie Canalway Association has been awarded and is distributing through a combination of grants and technical assistance to regional partners.
The collaborative community spirit at the heart of every National Heritage Area remains the hallmark of Ohio & Erie Canalway programs and projects that continue to help Ohio and our nation grow.

Registration
The Canal Corridor 100 Mile Endurance Run will be held on October 11-12, 2025. Runners will run through existing portions of the exceptionally beautiful Towpath Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Akron, Canal Fulton, and possibly, Cleveland, Ohio, depending on permitting. The race is suitable for anyone looking to complete their first 100 miler or a seasoned veteran who is going after a PR. There is a 30 hour time cutoff.
If you're looking to run 100, but the race is inaccessible to you financially, please contact the race director through the form below. Every year several runners ask that we donate their registration to someone in need. We can fit you in.
Please note that once you register, we DO NOT provide refunds. If you would like to transfer your bib, please contact the Race Director prior to October 4, 2024.
The Course
Traditionally, the start/finish line is at Missing Falls Brewery in downtown Akron, OH. The course runs along The Towpath Trail following the Ohio & Erie Canalway. The Towpath is a crushed limestone trail that occasionally yields to asphalt or concrete walkway. The start is in downtown Akron, Ohio and travels south on the Towpath 10 miles, then returns north back to Akron, then through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, before turning around approximately at mile 60 at Canal Basin Park in the Cleveland Flats, to finally return south to Akron. Elevation gain over the entirety of the course is under a 1000 feet.
There are aid stations approximately every 4-5.5 miles apart throughout the course that alternate from staffed full aid stations to unstaffed water & gel stations. The full aid stations will be staffed by seasoned ultrarunners and will offer water, electrolyte drink and various food items including hot foods at night.

Volunteers
There are aid stations approximately every 5 miles apart throughout the course. Full aid stations will be staffed by all-star veteran ultra marathon volunteers and will offer water, endurance drinks and various food items. First Aid will be available throughout the course from local EMS.
Race Management Leadership
In 2017 our organization had come together to create a new race that will build on the foundation of our unique park system while offering participants a great venue and a great celebration of running in an historic setting. We are all volunteers and do this for the love of ultrarunning, ultrarunners and the places where we run. We pride ourselves on doing what is best for the runners and giving back to the parks and trails.
Objective
The objective of CC100 is to provide a successful, enjoyable, and a safe running experience to help raise funding and awareness for trail preservation and to promote the Ohio and Erie Canal Corridor. It is the goal of this project to continue support for the CVNP Trails Forever Endowment Fund, the Summit Metroparks Foundation, and similar funds in the parks that we run through and also help provide funding to develop and enhance the canal corridor experience for visitors.
